U.S. President Donald Trump has hinted at the possibility of deporting Elon Musk, the world’s richest man and CEO of Tesla, amid tensions over a Republican tax bill.
According to U.S. media reports, when asked by reporters in Florida whether Musk could face deportation for opposing the bill, Trump responded, “I don’t know — we’ll see.” He further remarked that Musk is upset about losing the electric vehicle mandate and could “lose a lot more,” expressing hope that the tax bill would pass.
Elon Musk, born in South Africa, has openly criticised the Republican-proposed tax plan, which would eliminate consumer tax credits for electric vehicle purchases — a key driver of Tesla sales, according to analysts.
