Trump praises Pakistan’s role in Iran agreement

US President Donald Trump has praised Pakistan’s leadership for its reported role in facilitating diplomatic efforts related to the recent agreement involving Iran, describing both Pakistan’s civilian and military leadership in positive terms.
Speaking during an interview with an American media outlet, Trump referred to Asim Munir as a “great man” and also commended Shehbaz Sharif, calling him a great leader. The US president said that Pakistan’s leadership had been helpful in advancing discussions connected to the Iran deal.
Trump noted that Field Marshal Asim Munir showed respect for the Pakistani prime minister, describing the relationship between the country’s civil and military leadership as a positive example. He added that Pakistani leaders were familiar with Iran’s leadership and people, which helped support diplomatic engagement during the negotiations.

The remarks mark another instance in which Trump has publicly acknowledged Pakistan’s contribution to regional diplomacy and efforts aimed at reducing tensions. Later, while addressing a separate event, Trump also spoke about international cooperation related to the Iran issue. He stated that Xi Jinping is expected to visit the United States in September and highlighted China’s role in efforts surrounding the Iran agreement.
The US president further remarked that China purchases a significant portion of Iran’s oil exports and emphasized the importance of Beijing’s involvement in regional diplomatic matters. Trump also reiterated that the United States maintains strong relations with Israel. In addition, he said he expects to visit China again later this year, signaling continued engagement between Washington and Beijing despite ongoing geopolitical challenges.
